Our Journey
"There must be a better way to make giving money fun!”
At least that’s what Beth Grist thought as she was planning her holiday shopping list in the late 1980s and considering her nephews Greg and Steven, who wanted cold hard cash.
Sure, giving money was easy, but opening that gift was over with a quick rip of an envelope. Beth wanted something that would be FUN, memorable, and last a bit longer.
So Beth got to work.
By 1994, her idea became a reality. After many ideas, prototypes, patents, criticisms, debts, doubts, and 18-hour days, this single mother designed the perfect game to put into the hands of millions of hard-to-shop-for teenagers and adults who wanted cash, gift certificates, concert tickets, and more.
Since then, BILZ® Gift Games has created multiple products (and counting). Their games have been featured in articles and catalogs, and they also appeared on QVC for 15+ years after being chosen for the “Quest for America’s Best” in 1995 (QVC’s 50 in 50 tour).
In 2024, Beth’s son, Andrew Grist, took the reins, determined to take the business to the next level. At its heart, family is the foundation of BILZ®. People often ask about the company’s name, "Who is T.E. Brangs?"
It is Beth and her sister Terri's families names combined (T.erri E.lizabeth BRittanyANdrewGregSteven).
Take it from our family: Giving money can be fun. Try it!
